Interesting Facts about Louvale Church Row

The congregation for Antioch Primitive Baptist Church began in 1830 (probably as a Baptist Church, which then split over the missionary controversy of that decade). The Primitive Baptist congregation then settled at Moccasin Gap in 1840 and then moved to the present site in a log church. The current structure was built in 1887. It is a classically American building, the spire being a feature that could have been built anywhere in the United States. As such, architectural historians deem it one of the most important buildings in Georgia.
